Yonder Mountain String Band helped celebrate the Telluride Bluegrass Festivals the 35th year week with no less than three marquee performances. On Wednesday, the group headlined the Telluride Conference Center and invited out Leftover Salmons Drew Emmit on mandolin and vocals for its entire second set and encore, including a run from Dawn’s Early Light into Death Trip. Two nights later, the quartet headlined Tellurides famed Sheridan Opera House, where mandolin heir Ronny McCoury emerged for a sandwich of Peace Of Mind and Bill Monroes Kentucky Mandolin near the end of Yonders second set. McCoury later returned to help the group through unplugged versions of Going To The Races and Blue Collar Blues. Finally, on Saturday Yonder played Telluride Town Park and added Sam Bush on fiddle for Another Day, No Expectations and Sideshow Blues. Yonder will open a tour with Keller Williams at Glen Allen, VAs Innsbrook Pavilion this Wednesday.
