On Friday, August 15, in St, Paul, MN, two historic Padelford River Boats will be connected to host a traveling benefit concert. Rock Boat I: A Benefit for Linwood/Monroe A+ School will feature music from several notable area acts: The Big Wu & Friends, God Johnson, White Iron Band and Pert Near Sandstone. The event has been organized by Vega Productions, ‘a registered 501c3 non-profit organization on a mission to enhance music and art education in Minnesota. We strive to provide funding for those schools who have been forced to eliminate or reduce music and art education from their curriculum because of budget cuts.’ Proceeds from the $25 ticket will assist ‘instrumental, general and vocal music education and instruction as well as dance, visual arts, theatre and interdisciplinary arts-based education when two Saint Paul Public Schools merge this fall to become the dual-campus Linwood/Monroe A+ School.’ Limited spots remain, with additional information at the Vega Productions site.
