The Allman Brothers Bands summer tour with RatDog continued over the weekend and, as expected, so did the groups string of collaborations. While performing at the Mansfield, MA venue once known as Great Woods, RatDog saxophonist Kenny Brooks took the stage with the Allman Brothers for a run through Desdemona. Derek Trucks wife Susan Tedeschi was also on hand and sat in with the group on both guitar and vocals for It Hurts Me Too. The Boston Herald also points out that RatDag may have opted to play Bob Dylan selections like Maggies Farm and A Hard Rain’s A-Gonna Fall as a nod to the Dylan and the Dead live album, portions of which were recorded at the nearby Foxboro Stadium.

A night earlier, while performing at Holmdel, NJs PNC Bank Arts Center, New Jersey-bred blues-guitarist Junior Mack also helped the Allman Brothers Band through show-closing take on Southbound. RatDog will support the Allman Brothers Band at Saratoga Springs, NYs Saratoga Performing Arts Center this Tuesday.
