RatDog and the Allman Brothers Band continued their co-bill this weekend in the northeast. As with the preceding shows, these gigs offered a number of guest appearances. On Friday at the Finger Lakes Performing Arts Center in Canandaigua, NY, RatDog delivered a rare ‘Revolution’ encore (the first time the band has performed the song since 3/20/07) and brought out Warren Haynes on guitar and vocals. Then, during the Allman Brothers Band set, Bob Weir contributed vocals and guitar to ‘Franklin’s Tower,’ while Mark Karan and Jeff Chimenti sat in on ‘The Weight.’ Haynes once again emerged with RatDog the following night at the Susquehanna Bank Center in Camden, NJ for the group’s set-closing ‘Bird Song’ and ‘One More Saturday Night’ encore. Then during the ABB set, Kenny Brooks contributed saxophone to ‘Dreams’ before Weir, Haynes and Derek Trucks delivered an acoustic ‘I Shall Be Released.’
Tonight, both bands are in Hershey, PA at the Hershey Star Pavilion.
