On Sunday Steve Molitz honored the anniversary of Abbie Hoffmans 1967 crashing of the New York Stock Exchange at the nearby Spiegelworld Circus Tent. The traveling venue is currently docked at New Yorks South Street Seaport where it will present an eclectic mix of rock, electronic and vaudevillian entertainment through November. Sundays festivities opened with interlocking performances by DJ Logic and EOTO, before Molitz, Logic, the Disco Biscuits Jon Gutwillig and the EOTO team of Michael Travis and Jason Hann took the stage for an improv-heavy set. Though largely instrumental the extended jam-session did feature a few structured songs like The Beatles ‘Come Together.’ At one point in the evening, Molitz nodded to Hoffman and his band of hippie-activists by staging a fake arrest of Gutwillig that ended with questioning officer taking over on guitar. The evening later climaxed with a cover of MGMTs current hit Time to Pretend that featured Gutwillig and Molitz sharing vocals. The members of MGMT talked with Jambands.com/Relix about their own roots in the jamband community at Bonnaroo.

A night earlier, Molitz also joined EOTO in Tuscaloosa, AL. The keyboardist sat in with the dance-based group throughout its all-improv set at Mellow Mushroom as a warm up for Sundays festivities. Next up, Molitz will perform with Particle at Clarks Grove, MNs Harmony Park on September 5.
