Though moe. initially planned to begin its break from the road after moe.down, the group will postpone its hiatus a few days to join Willie Nelson, John Mellencamp, Neil Young and Dave Matthews at Farm Aid. In a message on moe.s homepage guitarist Al Schnier explained, We are very excited to announce that we will be participating in this year’s Farm Aid Concert. Severe weather and extreme conditions have made this year particularly challenging for our country’s independent growers. It’s a great honor to contribute to this cause. We still very much look forward to our long awaited time off with our families, thus, will not be playing any other dates until next year. Thanks again for all of your continued support.

In addition to Farm Aids board members, the charity event will boast performances by

Kenny Chesney, The Pretenders, Arlo Guthrie, Jerry Lee Lewis, Steve Earle, Nation Beat, Grace Potter and the Nocturnals, Jakob Dylan and The Gold Mountain Rebels,
Danielle Evin, Jamey Johnson, Jesse Lenat, Will Dailey, One Flew South and The Elms. As previously reported, Farm Aid will take place September 20 in Mansfield, MA.
