Drummer Rick Lowenberg left Brothers Past in June of 2006 to attend medical school and, though the Jammy-nominated group continued on with new drummer Ilya Stemkovsk, the quartet has not performed since this past December. The four musicians have remained busy in that time, however, with guitarist Tom Hamilton focusing on American Babies and bassist Clay Parnell devoting his attention on BioDiesel. But, this past Sunday, Hamilton, Parnell, Lowenberg and Brothers Past keyboardist Tom McKee reunited for an impromptu appearance at a party in Malvern, PA.

Billed as Weekend at Morgan’s II, the event was scheduled to feature Tha Itis, Sinking Ship, ATM and a midnight screening of Weekend at Bernies. All four classic members of Brother Past happened to be in attendance and, at the end of the night, took the stage with borrowed equipment to for a short, spirited set that consisted of ‘Let’s Start a Gang,’ ‘Catharsis’ and Machine. Though only approximately 100 party-goers were at Weekend at Morgan’s II, Brothers Past’s performance was streamed live on biscoradio.com. Sinking Ship also captured the stealth reunion on their new DVD, Live at Your Mom’s House. As of press time, the group has no confirmed tour dates.
