Rothburys future location is uncertain, according to a recent article in the Lansing State Journal. A recent article reports that the festivals first year home, the Double JJ Ranch, Waterpark and Golf Resort, has suspended its daily operations in anticipation of the resort being sold at auction in early October. According to the article, the 2,000-acre Rothbury, MI resort closed Wednesday after its owners filed for Chapter 11 federal bankruptcy protection in July. As of press time, it is unknown whether the festivals promoters will shop for a new location. More than many likeminded music festivals, the inaugural Rothbury music festival was built around its location, allowing concert goers to utilize Double JJ Ranchs various attractions.
