Widespread Panic will once again play an intimate club show for Tunes for Tots. The charitable performance will take place at Atlantas newly renovated Tabernacle on October 19, after the group headlines the much larger Lakewood Amphitheatre the preceding two days. 100 tickets will also be sold for The Private VIP Cocktail Party with Widespread Panic and includes heavy hors d’oeuvres catered by the renown chef Hugh Acheson of Athens’ 5 & 10 restaurant. The reception will include an open bar, early admittance into the venue and a 2008 Tunes for Tots poster autographed by the band. The cocktail party will take place from 5 PM – 6:30 PM.

According to the band, over the past three years, Tunes for Tots has raised over $375,000 for Georgia Public School music programs. With the proceeds from 2007’s event, Rothschild Middle School not only received instruments for their orchestra but also a 27 station music computer lab with the latest version of Music Maker Finale already loaded on them.
As previously reported, Widespread Panic will celebrate New Years Eve in Colorado with openers Yonder Mountain String Band. The Colorado-natives will also play a Tunes for Tots benefit at Denvers Ogden Theatre on December 29 that could conceivably draw in some members of the Widespread Panic camp as well.
