The Stone Church Expected To Remain A Music Venue

Last Thursday Sam Kininger performed what might well have been the final show at Newmarket, NHs Stone Church Music Club. The building was up for foreclosure auction and it was unclear what the next owners had in mind for the venue, which began its life in 1832 as a Unitarian Universalist meeting house. The Stone Church has hosted live music since the late 1960s and now it appears that it will continue to serve in this capacity. Last Friday’s auction left the venue in the hands of three area owners who intend to use the venue as a concert facility (and most likely will retain its current name). Beyond this, no details have been released regarding future plans for the club.
