The 1972 film Last Days of the Fillmore documents the closing of the Fillmore West in 1971. In addition to footage of legendary promoter Bill Graham and his staff, the film features performances by numerous bands associated with the venue, including: the Grateful Dead, Santana, Boz Scaggs, Jefferson Airplane and Hot Tuna. Later this year Rhino Entertainment will issue the film on DVD and to mark the occasion, the Mill Valley Film Festival will host a special evening on October 3. Last Days Of The Fillmore: A Live Multimedia Event will take place at Mill Valley’s 142 Throckmorton Theatre. The night will offer a selection of clips from he film, a panel discussion moderated by Ben Fong-Torres and a live set of music by Moonalice with numerous guest musicians expected to participate as well.
