Though Particles touring schedule has slowed while keyboardist Steve Molitz performs with Phil Lesh & Friends, the trio will end 2008 on a high note. On December 27, Particle will headline San Franciscos Great American Music Hall, three days before Molitz appears with Lesh at the nearby Bill Graham Civic Auditorium. Both Michael Kang and Lesh will join the group during its set, though the latter musicians sit is being limited to a special appearance. Like other shows at the venue, a dinner option is available.

Kang also appeared with Particle this past weekend at both Boulders Fox Theatre and Denvers Cervantes. The performances celebrated Particles anniversary and, to mark the occasion, featured a handful of new covers: Steve Wonders Boogie On Reggae Woman, Marvin Gayes Inner City Blues, Chris Robinsons Tumbleweed In Eden, the Grateful Deads Shakedown Street and Raidoheads Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger. In addition, guitarists Brian Jordan and Lucas Bingham both sat in with the band in Denver, while Molitz joined opening act The Breakfast onstage in Boulder for ‘Metropolis. Bingham is best known as the axe-man in Particle bassist Eric Goulds side-project Big Man’s Gold.
