The Breakfast offered up an extended ‘homage to animation’ during its shows over Halloween weekend. On Friday at Oberlin College in Oberlin, OH, the group performed the themes to numerous animated short films and television shows, starting with the ‘Looney Tunes Theme’ which segued into the group’s own ‘Beef Barley,’ then into ‘The Simpsons Theme’ and back into ‘Beef Barley.’ During this performance the Breakfast, aided by Todd Stoops on keys, also offered up ‘The Popeye Theme,’ as well as the opening songs of South Park and SpongeBob SquarePants. On the next night at Higher Ground, the group also presented music from King Of The Hill, Ren And Stimpy, Family Guy, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Spider Man and Fat Albert. In addition on Thursday the 30th, the group added the themes from Beavis and Butthead, Mighty Mouse, GI Joe, Transformers, Duck Tales and Ren and Stimpy.

Looking ahead, The Breakfast will spend New Year’s Eve in its native Connecticut with a show at Toad’s Place.
