Over the weekend in Colorado, The Motet and Friends wrapped up four nights of Talking Heads music. During these shows, the group expanded to include Kyle Hollingsworth, Fuzz, Jans Ingber, Liza Oxnard, Joey Porter, Carrie Sangiovanni and Paul McDaniel. Many of these songs were drawn from the Talking Heads’ 1983 album Speaking In Tongues, including ‘Burning Down the House,’ ‘Girlfriend is Better,’ ‘Making Flippy Floppy,’ ‘This Must Be The Place (Naive Melody)’ and ‘Slippery People’ (the concert film Stop Making Sense documents the tour in support of that release). The shows also included versions of ‘Once in a Lifetime,’ ‘Life During Wartime,’ Nothing But Flowers,’ ‘Psycho Killer’ and the Tom Tom Club signature tune, ‘Genius of Love.’ The Fox Theater performance on October 30, currently is streaming free online.

Hollingsworth will join the Motet once again on November 13 and 14 at the Bear Creek Festival in Live Oak, Florida.
