On Friday, Big Sams Funky Nation played a sold-out show at New Yorks Sullivan Hall. Throughout the night, Big Sam Williams former Dirty Dozen Brass Band bandmate Jamie McLean—-who actually played in an early incarnation of the Funky Nation—-sat in on guitar. At one point late in the evening, McLean also handed over axe-duties to another New York guitarist, Eric Krasno, who proceeded to help the group through a version of Soul Power.

Big Sams Funky Nation will perform at New Orleans Miracle on Fulton St. on November 28, while Burlington, VT The Red Squares the same evening. Meanwhile, Krasno will perform with Soulive at Syracuse, NYs The Westcott Theater on December 4.
