Former Drive-By Truckers guitarist Jason Isbell will release his second solo album on February 17, 2009. Tilted Jason Isbell and The 400 Unit, the eponymous disc is Isbells first with his permanent band: Derry deBorja (keyboards), Jimbo Hart (bass) and Browan Lollar (guitar). Throughout, Matt Pence (Centro-matic/South San Gabriel) lends his talents as a co-producer, drummer and engineer.

‘I want it to be known that it’s a band record,’ Isbell said in a statement. ‘I want it to be known that it’s something we all did together. Even though I wrote the songs, it was a
very inclusive project.’
Jason Isbell and The 400 Unit was recorded at Muscle Shoals, ALs FAME Studios and will be released on the Nashville-based Lightning Rod Records. Isbell has also posted the new track, ‘Seven-Mile Island,’ on his band’s MySpace site for fans to preview
