Topaz was born in Texas and currently resides in Austin, but spent a decade playing music in New York beginning in the mid-1990s. On December 27, Topaz will return to the Big Apple for his Annual Holiday Jam at Sullivan Hall. The saxophonist will draw in a number of his New York collaborators throughout the night, including guitarist Will Bernard, keyboardist Borahm Lee, former ulu bassist Justin Wallace and Deep Banana Blackout drummer Eric Kalb, among others. Before then, Topaz will perform with his band Mudphonic at Austins Lamberts this Saturday. The groups debut album, Music for Dorothy, is now available.
