Jacob Fred Jazz Odyssey will close out the year with a December 31 performance in the group’s home state of Oklahoma. For this show at The Blank Slate in Tulsa, JFJO will be joined by Callupsie and The Doldrums. Each group will deliver a set of music and then the three bands reportedly will collaborate on a set of music by Prince, Lionel Richie and Michael Jackson. The Doldrums are a fitting selection for the bill, as their bass player, Matt Hayes, has been performing with JFJO as of late, while Reed Mathis gigs with Tea Leaf Green.
