As many had suspected, The Dead will return to the road this spring. Like the groups recent Pennsylvania benefit performance for Barack Obama, The Deads lineup will feature core Grateful Dead members Phil Lesh, Bob Weir, Mickey Hart and Bill Kreutzmann, as well guitarist Warren Haynes and RatDog keyboardist Jeff Chimenti. The latter musician has been performing with the core four since 2002, while Haynes signed on in 2004.

The tour marks the first time in more than four years that The Dead has toured and will focus on many of the groups primary markets. As of press time, the group is scheduled to make stops in Greensboro, NC (4/12), Washington, DC (4/14), Charlottesville, VA (4/15), Albany, NY (4/17), Worcester, MA (4/18-19), Buffalo, NY (4/21), Wilkes-Barre, PA (4/22), Uniondale, NY (4/24), New York (4/25), Hartford, CT (4/26), E. Rutherford, NJ (4/28-29), Philadelphia (5/1-2), Chicago (5/5), Denver (5/7), Los Angeles (5/9) and Mountain View, CA (5/10).
The reunited Dead are featured on the cover of the February/March issue of Relix. The comprehensive issue boasts interviews with Lesh by Widespread Panics Dave Schools, Weir by former Relix cover subject Keller Williams and The Deads longtime drummers by percussionist Billy Martin.
