The Allman Brothers Band has added an additional five shows to its annual run at New Yorks Beacon Theatre, bringing this years grand total up to 15 performances. The band had previously confirmed shows at the intimate uptown theatre on March 9 & 10, 12-14, 16 &17 and 19-21, but will now also hold court at the Beacon on March 23 & 24 and 26-28. These shows will mark both the 40th anniversary of the bands formation and the 20th anniversary of the groups first performance at the recently renovated venue. With the exception of last years cancelled run of shows, the Allman Brothers Band has played the Beacon multiple nights each year since 1996.

The band has invited a number of special guests to participate in the celebration, though both Gregg Allman and Butch Trucks have denied rumors that Dickey Betts will join the festivities. An American Express presale for these recently confirmed shows will begin this Tuesday, February 3 at 10 AM. Public on sale will begin Friday, February 6 at 10 AM.
