As of late, Colorado-based producer Derek Vincent Smith has been recording and gigging nationally as Pretty Lights. In the live setting Smith is joined by drummer Cory Eberhard for what they describe as ‘electro organic cutting-edge party rocking beats.’ Pretty Lights recently performed at the Sundance Film Festival and previously opened a number of STS9 shows, with Wakarusa and the 10,000 Lakes Music Festival on the summer 2009 tour itinerary. Pretty Lights, which also recently released a two CD set, Filling Up The City Skies, will begin a weekend Mountain tour this evening in Boulder at the Fox Theatre. From there, Smith and Eberhard will travel to Fort Collins (Friday, Aggie Theatre) and Denver (Saturday, Cervantes’ Masterpiece). Then, on Friday February 13, Pretty Lights will begin a two week Southern run, which includes a February 15 date with the Disco Biscuits.
