The Wanee Music Festival will return to the Spirit of Suwannee Music Park in Live Oak, FL on June 5 and 6. Once again the festival will be anchored by the Allman Brothers Band, who will headline both nights. The band members’ other projects also will be part of the event, with music from Gov’t Mule, Derek Trucks Band, Bill Kreutzmann featuring Oteil Burbridge and Scott Murawski, Jaimoe’s Jasssz Band and The Lee Boys with Oteil Burbridge. Other artists set to perform include: Umphrey’s McGee, The Doobie Brothers, Drive-By Truckers, Little Feat, Susan Tedeschi, Grace Potter & The Nocturnals, Toots And The Maytals, Ivan Neville’s Dumpstaphunk, Col. Bruce Hampton & The Quark Alliance and The Wailers, who will perform Exodus. Festival gates will open on Thursday, June 4th, at noon with a kick off party featuring The Radiators. Tickets for Wanee 2009 will go on sale next Saturday March 7th.
