On Saturday night Vince Herman and Great American Taxi performed in Durango, CO at the Abbey Theater. Todd Snider also happened to be gigging in town and after his show at the Strater Theater, Snider joined Herman and the group at the Abbey. Snider and GAT performed together for the entire second set, offering Snider originals such as ‘East Nashville Skyline,’ as well as such covers as J.J Cale’s ‘Crazy Mama’ and a variety of 70s funk tunes.

Tonight Great American Taxi opens a Midwest tour in Minneapolis at the Cabooze. Looking ahead, the band continues work on its next studio disc, ‘Reckless Habits, which is being produced by Railroad Earth’s Tim Carbone. Guest players include Barry Sless, the Black Swan Singer and a horn section. At present the band has not announced a release date for the new disc.
