The Green Apple Festival will change things up this year by hosting a series of free Thank You Concerts for volunteers over Earth Day Weekend. The series will take place in major cities across the country on Sunday, April 19 and will focus on special with friends performances by a number of notable artists. Every volunteer who participates in the activities over the weekend will be given tickets to attend the free Thank You concerts in their respective city. Meanwhile, the eco-friendly festivals national flagship event, Earth Day on the National Mall, will return to Washington, DCs National Mall the afternoon of April 19.

Volunteers can sign up online now for Earth Day weekend projects in ten cities. The projects will take place from April 17-18, focusing on climate change solutions like tree planting, energy efficiency retrofits, water protection, urban gardens and forest restoration in parks, beaches, schools and forests. Produced with environmental organizations, city parks and recreation departments across the US, the activities will be suitable for all ages, including children and families. These activities encourage active lifestyles while connecting volunteers with green products and solutions. The lineup for the free event in Washington, DCs National Mall will be confirmed in the coming weeks.
