Drummer Claude Coleman has rejoined Ween, according to an article printed last week in the _ Athens Banner-Herald_. Coleman took a leave of absence from the group last year and lead singer Gene Ween has spent the past few months focusing on his new Gene Ween Band with Ween bassist, Dave Dreiwitz, drummer Joe Russo and guitarist Scott Metzger. Last summer, Mickey decided he wanted to concentrate on fishing, and our drummer (Claude Coleman) quit, but now he’s decided to come back, so we’re going to get on the ball quickly, Gene Ween said in a statement. We’re going to do a bunch of shows this summer and we’ve got a new guitar player, too, which is something I wanted (Mickey) to think about for our fast-paced songs. I’ll continue to play my bluestring solos, but this will give me a chance to focus more on singing.

The Gene Ween Bands next performance will take place at Ithaca, NYs Castaways on April 9. Ween currently has no tourdates scheduled.
