As previously reported, Jimmy Herring will hit the road this spring in support of his new studio album Lifeboat. In addition to the Widespread Panic guitarist, the new band will feature drummer Jeff Sipe, saxophonist Greg Osby, Tribal Tech keyboardist Scott Kinsey and bassist Oteil Burbridge (the latter musician for Herring’s spring tour only). The Jimmy Herring Band will draw from a wide range of material, including ‘cover influential tracks from the 60s and 70s and select favorites from the catologues of the individual band members.’ The first leg of Herring’s tour will open at Greenville, SC’s Handlebar on April 24 and make stops in Athens (4/25), Savannah (4/26), Macon, GA (4/28), Charleston, SC (4/29-30),

Charlotte, NC (5/1-2), Raleigh, NC (5/3), Chattanooga (5/5), Nashville, TN (5/6), Atlanta (5/7), Mobile (5/8), Huntsville (5/9) and Birmingham, AL (5/10). After a short break, Herring and his band will hit the road again for a festival-heavy run scheduled to begin at Ozark, AK’s Wakarusa Music Festival on June 4. The tour will then make stops in
Tulsa, OK (6/5), Telluride (6/7), Aspen (6/9), Boulder (6/10), Ft. Collins, CO (6/11), Denver (6/12-13), Reno, NV (6/16), West Hollywood, CA (6/19) and Solano Beach, CA (6/21). Meanwhile, Widespread Panic will begin a multi-night run at Orlando, Fl’s House of Blues on April 13.
