Over this past weekend, The Disco Biscuits cancelled the remainder of their West Coast tour due to a family emergency. The group has announced, however that its upcoming Electric Factory gigs will indeed take place. The band is slated to appear at the hometown venue this coming Friday and Saturday and issued a statement that affirms, ‘We want to let the fans know that the shows in Philadelphia are going to happen. We will see you next Friday night and we will be looking forward to raging the Factory with you all and throwing down two more nights of epic 2009 Biscuits. ‘

The group also addressed the cancelled California shows, noting, ‘We appreciate the outpouring of support that the fans have been sending the band this week due to this family emergency. As well, we greatly appreciate the amount of respect we have received with regards to the privacy of the matter. We are very sorry that the shows had to be canceled this weekend. We do respect how hard it is on our fans who had plans to travel across the country and money invested into the trip, and we want to assure you that we would never cancel a show unless it was absolutely 100% necessary. We have the utmost respect for how much it costs to follow us around and how limited people’s travel funds are with regards to going to concerts.’
