Dave Matthews played two shows with his longtime friend Tim Reynolds at Honolulu, HIs Waikiki Shell this weekend as part of Jack Johnsons Kokua Festival.

The eco-friendly festival featured performances by a number of Johnsons comrades, including Paula Fuga, Go Jimmy Go, Mason Jennings. Matthews and Reynolds nodded to their setting by opening with the politically charged Don’t Drink the Water, before offering the new Eh Hee and sing-a-longs like Ants Marching. Reynolds also played a solo section each night, most notably a cover of Neil Youngs After the Goldrush on April 19. In addition, during Johnsons headlining performance on April 19, both Matthews and Reynolds emerged for a cover of Jimmy Buffett’s ‘A Pirate Looks at Forty.’
Jack Johnson will headline this Friday, while Dave Matthews Band will begin a national tour at Burgettstown, PAs Post-Gazette Pavilion on May 30.
