The members of onetime New Groove of the Month Licorice have been making the rounds recently. This past Saturday, Licorice guitarist David Lott joined another former New Groove, Buzz Universe, for ‘This ‘Ol Cowboy,’ ‘Rock’ and a cover of Los Lobos’ ‘Cumbia Raza’ during the bandís first set at New Yorkís Bitter End. After a short break, Lott returned for a version of ‘Born on the Bayou’ that led into ìUp the Mountain.’ The guitarist remained onstage for an encore that consisted of ‘You and Me.’

Last night, Licorice opened for Band of Brotherz at New Yorkís Blender Theater. Former Licorice singer Sabriena Stone sat in with the group for much of its set, including ìStormy Mondayî and ìFreeze.î Buzz Universe’s next gig will take place at Morrisville, PAís Awesometown festival on May 8, while Licorice is off until a show at Evergreen, CO’s Cactus Jack’s Saloon on May 30
