As first confirmed through a text message sent from dead.net, last night saxophonist Branford Marsalis sat in with The Dead at East Rutherford, NJís IZOD Center. Marsalis emerged partway through the groupís first set for ìFire on the Mountain,î ìBird Song,î ìFeel Like a Strangerî and ìTurn On Your Lovelight.î He later returned during the groupís second set for a batch of songs that included ìEstimated Prophet,î Miles Davisí ìMilestones,î ìDear Mr. Fantasy,î ìDark Starî and ìEyes of the Worldî

The saxophonist collaborated with the Grateful Dead several times in the 1990s. His rendition of ìEyes of the Worldî with the group from Uniondale, NYís Nassau Coliseum on March 29, 1990 is documented on the live album Without a Net. He last played with the group in Raleigh, NC in 2004.
