Several veterans of the original Woodstock Music & Arts Festival will celebrate the event’s 40th anniversary on August 15. Billed as Heroes of Woodstock, the single-day event will take place at Bethel, NYs Bethel Woods Center for the Artsa new shed built on the site of the original Woodstock festival. As of press time, the events lineup will include: Levon Helm Band, Jefferson Starship, Ten Years After, Canned Heat, Big Brother and the Holding Company, Mountain, the Grateful Deads Tom Constanten and Country Joe McDonald.
Each ticket will also include a free soundboard download of the days entire performances (with the exception of Helm and Mountain). It should be noted that this festival is different than a similar event
planned by the original Woodstock festivals promoters. That multi-day festival is proposed to take place later in August, possibly in Brooklyn, NY.
