The New Deal is set to perform at Drunkards Stadium on June 5. We weren’t quite sure what to make of that ourselves (we initially suspected that a Duff Beer sponsorship might be involved), until we realized that the venue is in Japan and then somehow it all seemed to make some sort of skewed sense. At any rate the Canadian trio will travel to the island nation in early June for a string of shows in Chiba, Osaka, Kyoto and Tokyo. Beyond that, in terms of upcoming dates, the group has confirmed performances at Chicago’s Park West on May 29, as well as Bisco Inferno (5/30) and the Evolve festival (7/17). The only other announced appearance by the group is at Caribbean Holidaze in Jamaica from December 10-14, although other shows quite possibly will be added.
