Charlie Hunter will appear in Cleveland tonight at Wilbert’s, which will be one of the few remaining chances to see him perform with his own group over the summer. He is currently in the studio working on the follow-up to Baboon Strength with drummer Eric Kalb and other guests. On Saturday he’ll be at the Toronto Jazz Festival but July will see him performing with two other groups. On July 14 and 15 he’ll be in New York City at the Jazz Standard with the Doug Wamble Band and then on July 23 and 23 he’ll appear in Denver at Dazzle with the Ron Miles Group.
