In the days following Michael Jackson’s death, a number of musicians and cultural commentators have offered up their thoughts and memories of the performer. One account of particular interest to our readers has been provided by Strangefolk guitarist Jon Trafton. In the Jon’s Room portion of Strangefolk.com, Trafton relates an evening in 1999, when he shared a meal (and road stories) with Jackson. He even offers a photo of the encounter, which he explores with good measures of insight and wit.

As for Strangefolk, the band will return to the stage later this month, with a Boston boat cruise and an appearance at the Gathering the Vibes.
