Influential New Jersey/New Hope musician Chris Harford will return to the states after some time in Europe for a show this Thursday. Harford will perform with his Band of Changes of New Hope, PAs John & Peter’s as part of the clubs 38th anniversary celebration. Joe Russo and Scott Metzger are among the musicians who will back Harford throughout the night. John & Peter’s is best known as the venue that helped give rise to local heroes Ween.

Last night, Metzger performed a special set at a free Relix/Jambands.com party held at New Yorks Gramercy Theater. The guitarist led an all-star band that featured Russo on drums, The Slips Marc Friedman on bass and A Big Yes and a Small Nos Kevin Kendrick on guitar. Metzger led the ad hoc band through a set of rock-centric Metzger originals and also offered a solo, acoustic version of Richard Thompsons 1952 Vincent Black Lightning. The evening also featured performances by Future, The Bridge and the Nate Wilson Group (Wilson surprised many by stepping away from the keyboard to play guitar near the end of his set).
