Former Relix cover subject Dr. Dog has signed with Anti Records for its next studio project. The Philadelphia-based band is currently working on the album, which is scheduled to hit stores in 2010. ‘Each album we’ve made was the best one we could have made at the time and I don’t have any regrets,’ Guitarist-vocalist Scott McMicken said in a statement. ‘But something has changed. We’ve never really recorded as a band before. We started as a recording project but over the years we’ve become a real band. We tour all the time and we have this certain place we fall into. And I think we’re ready to use that as a reference point now’

Dr. Dog will appear at Portland, ORs Pickathon festival this weekend and Bethlehem, PAs Bethlehem Musikfest this Monday. The group will then kick off a national four tour at Chattanooga, TNs Nightfall Concert at Miller Plaza on September 18. The band will then bring things to a close with a two-night hometown stand at
Philadelphias Theater of Living Arts on October 23 and 24.
