For many years The Zen Tricksters marked Jerry Garcias birthday with a sweaty, cover-heavy celebration at New Yorks Wetlands. After that club closed, the Tricksters brought its annual Jerry Garcia Birthday Bash uptown to New Yorks B.B. King Blues Club. Though Zen Tricksters guitarist Jeff Mattson is currently on the road with Godchaux-MacKay, the members of the Tricksters will still pay tribute to Garcia at B.B. Kings this weekend. On August 2, Zen Tricksters members Klyph Black (bass, vocals), Dave Diamond (drums, vocals) and Tom Circosta (guitar, vocals) will perform with Live Deads Freeman White and Gongzillas Mike Miz as The JamStampede. According to the group, The JamStampede is the official result of an unofficial jam band, first intended to be an all-star line-up of seasoned pros from NY and PA. After playing just one sold out show in Plains PA, it became evident that these guys not only rocked hard but really had a lot of magic and and natural chemistry; not always the exact result of many jams.’ Special guests are expected.
