The Outside Lands Music & Arts Festival will once again celebrate its San Francisco environs with a number of offerings. The Winehaven tent will return with 25 local vinters and recyclable Winehaven glasses. In addition, A Taste of the Bay Area will offer food from more than two dozen local restaurants, as well as ‘locally grown produce from Pacific Coast Farmers Market Association, exceptionally delicious meats prepared with conscience from Fatted Calf, sustainably raised Hog Island Oysters pluck fresh daily from Tomales Bay.’ New for 2009, however is The Barbary tent named for the area’s infamous historic red light district. San Francisco’s Vau de Vire Society will host the tent with a variety of performers participating, including: The Yard Dogs Road Show, Reggie Watts, The Madd Vibe Orchestra, Brent Weinbach, Eric McFadden Trio, Rosin Coven and Loop! Station.

Outside Lands will take place at Golden Gate Park from August 28-30 with such artists as: Pearl Jam, Dave Matthews Band, The Mars Volta,TV on the Radio, Black Eyed Peas, Incubus, Thievery Corporation, Jason Mraz, Tom Jones, Silversun Pickups, The National, M.I.A, Ween, Modest Mouse, Street Sweeper Social Club, Band of Horses and The Dead Weather.
