Foo Fighter frontman Dave Grohl will return to his drum kit in Them Crooked Vultures, a new project with Led Zeppelin bassist/keyboardist John Paul Jones. The group, which is rounded out by Queens of the Stone Age’s Josh Homme, has been in the works since at least 2005, when Grohl mentioned the idea in an interview. The band will make its public debut at the intimate Chicago club Metro this Sunday as part of a Lollapalooza late night show. Grohl, a Led Zeppelin fanatic, worked with Jones on the 2005 Foo Fighters album In Your Honor. Jones and Led Zeppelin guitarist Jimmy Page also sat in with Foo Fighters at Londons Wembley Stadium in June 2008 for the Led Zeppelin classics ‘Rock ‘n’ Roll’ and ‘Ramble On.’
