With so many musicians in Colorado for Phishs four-night run at Red Rocks, it seems only fitting that Matt Butler conducted an Everyone Orchestra performance this past weekend. The all-star jam took place at Golden, COs Marriott Denver West on Friday, as part of the multi-day after party series the Late Night Carnival. In addition to Butler and his current band Hot Buttered Rum, the jam featured Marco Benevento, Big Gigantic saxophonist Dominic Lalli and drummer Jeremy Salkin, Lotus percussionist Chuck Morris, Underground Orchestra percussionist Ben Baruch, Heavy Pets guitarist Jeffrey Lloyd and Motet bassist Garret Sayers. The Rubblebucket Orchestra opened the nights festivities and, at various points throughout the evening, members of the group also trickled onstage with the Everyone Orchestra. Likewise, partway through the groups set Umphreys McGee keyboardist Joel Cummins and Big Light frontman Fred Torphy took the stage with the group for an improvisational segment.

The Everyone Orchestra will return to Denver this weekend for an appearance at the Dancin in the Streets music festival. The event will take place from August 7-9, featuring Hot Buttered Rum, Leftover Salmon, Steve Kimock, Dark Star Orchestra, Bill Kreutzmann and Tea Leaf Green, among others.
