Gillian Welch, Susan Tedeschi, Rufus Wainwright and Don McLean will headline the 19th annual Rocky Mountain Folks Festival. The festival will be held from August 14-16, returning to the 15-acre Planet Bluegrass Ranch located in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains. Campers will be able to set up their tents along the St. Vrain River in Meadow Park.
The festival kicks off on Friday with Songwriter Showcase, a competition for the musicians to fight for a spot in the 2010 lineup. Wainwright headlines the night. Don McLean will headline Saturday after a set by Susan Tedeschi, and Sunday will feature Welch after a solo set from M. Ward and music from Brett Dennen. The festival will also host international artists such as Australian blues artist Mia Dyson, Tibetan music from the Deprung Monks, in addition to Scottish folk singer Dougie Maclean. Other artists shceduled to appear include: JJ Grey & Mofro, jazz-folk singer Madeleine Peyroux, cellist and songwriter Ben Sollee and more.
