Last night, Relix Editor-in-Chief Josh Baron married Relix Associate Publisher Rachel Seiden during a private ceremony held at Brooklyn, NYs Music Hall of Williamsburg. The couple celebrated with a traditional service that included a Jeiwsh chuppah on the theaters stage.
A number of Baron and Seiden’s closest musician friends also attended the wedding and, following a few hours of party music by a DJ, took the stage for a few songs. The all-star wedding band featured: vocalists Jonah Smith and Leah Siegel, drummer Joe Russo, guitarists Tom Hamilton (Brothers Past/American Babies) and Scott Metzger (RANA/American Babies), bassist Dave Dreiwitz (Ween) and alternately keyboardists Rob Marscher (Matisyahu/Addison Groove Project) and Aron Magner (Disco Biscuits).
Baron and Seiden personally selected a series of covers for the ensemble to play, including Hall & Oates You Make My Dreams, Al Greens Let’s Stay Together, Tom Pettys Here Comes My Girl, Bob Dylans Tonight I’ll Be Staying Here With You and Steve Wonders Signed, Sealed & Delivered. Umphreys McGee lighting directorand onetime Jambands.com/Relix editorJeff Waful ran the clubs light board throughout the mini-set, while Barons brother Matt Otto sat in on saxophone at various points throughout the performance. Otto, a noted jazz musician in his own right, also told the Story of Josh and Rachel through an instrumental composition earlier in the night.
Other familiar faces in the crowd included Brad Sands (longtime Phish Road Manager), photographers Jay Blakesberg, C. Taylor Crothers and Michael Weintrob, Jonathan Schwartz (Sirius Jam ON), Kevin Morris (Red Light Management) and Peter Shapiro (Brooklyn Bowl/Relix/Wetlands), as well as representatives from Superfly, Bowery Presents, Jambase, Headcount, CID Entertainment and, of course, Relix/Jambands.com.
