Last night Mike Gordon and his band continued their southern swing with a show in Nashville at Mercy Lounge. The two set affair featured guests in each half. First out was guitarist Guthrie Trapp, a notable Nashville session man who has performed with Garth Brooks, Alison Krauss, Vince Gill and others. Trapp joined in for “Crumblin’ Bones,” “Weekly Time” and the cover of Lynyrd Skynyrd’s “Swamp Music” that closed out the set. Tara Nevins later appeared early in set two, adding vocals and fiddle to “Peggy-O,” a song she had performed with Gordon Band guitarist Scott Murawski when they toured with Bill Kreutzmann this past summer.

Next up for Gordon’s group is a gig on Thursday at The Vogue in Indianapolis. Be sure to check out our recent interview with Mike that posted yesterday to the site.
