AOD, opening night of tour in Boston- photo by David Piacitelli

Assembly of Dust and Emmitt-Nershi Band are currently in the midst of a co-headlining tour. The run opened this past Thursday at Boston’s Paradise Rock Club and has included stops at Portland, ME’s Port City Music Hall and Charleston, RI’s Calling Planet Earth Festival. AOD has been offering an acoustic three-song interlude during its shows that features Bill Nershi and Drew Emmitt on both “Old River” and John Prine’s “Angel from Montgomery.”

Nershi also took over for AOD’s Reid Genauer on guitar Friday night in Portland. Partway through “Heartblood,” natured called and Genauer was forced to step off stage. Nershi was watching the set from the side of the stage and picked up Genauer’s axe to help finish the song. Both Assembly of Dust and Emmitt-Nershi Band will perform at New York’s Bowery Ballroom this evening.
