Three years ago Jonathan Demme ( Stop Making Sense, The Silence of the Lambs, Philadelphia ) directed Neil Young: Heart of Gold which captured Young at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville. Now he is back with another Young concert film, Neil Young Trunk Show, which documents an appearance at the Tower Theater in Upper Darby, Pennsylvania. Like Demme’s recent Rachel Getting Married , much of Neil Young Trunk Show was shot with hand held cameras. The documentary will screen this weekend at the Woodstock Film Festival
with Demme himself likely to attend. Demme is also currently working on a documentary project that will trace the life and music of Bob Marley.
