Next weekend the Radiators will perform two show in their native New Orleans with all door proceeds to benefit the youth programs of the Tipitina’s Foundation: The Tipitina’s Internship Program & Sunday Music Workshops. Dubbed Radz Bluz Weekend, on October 9 and 10 the group will focus on traditional blues material from two distinct eras. Friday will be Hellhound On My Trail: An Evening of Pre-War Blues, which will focus on songs from 1945 and earlier, featuring the music of Robert Johnson, Leadbelly, Louis Jordan, Jelly Roll Morton, Bo Carter, Mississippi John Hurt, Skip James, Blind Willie McTell, Big Bill Broonzy and others. Then on Saturday it will be Got My Mojo Workin’ : An Evening of Post-War Blues with music from 1946-1964, which will present on the music of Muddy Waters, Howlin’ Wolf, John Lee Hooker, T-Bone Walker, Albert King, Champion Jack Dupree, Lightnin’ Hopkins, Earl King, Professor Longhair and additional artists.
