BoomBox has canceled tonight’s performance due to a death in guitarist Zion Godchaux’s family. The band was scheduled to perform at Eureka, CA’s Nocturnum this evening, but pulled out of the gig so Godchaux could fly home to be with his family. BoomBox’s upcoming shows in San Francisco, Los Angeles and San Diego will go on as scheduled later this week.

“I want to thank everyone for the support on this West Coast run,” Godchaux said in a statement. “We are really honored to share what we all share together at shows. My family’s encouragement and your support led us to the decision to return back to California on Thursday (October 8th) to perform in San Francisco and finish the remainder of the tour.”

BoomBox’s opening act Ana Sia is still slated to perform at Nocturnum this evening.
