Justin Vernon plans to temporally put his Bon Iver moniker on hiatus following a recent performance at Milwaukee’s Riverside Theater. According to a post on Bon Iver’s official site, “Wrapping up a meteor is a difficult proposition. BON IVER turned the page on this chapter of the story by heading home to Wisconsin, acting as honorary chair for AIDS WALK Wisconsin, and playing one more show before taking a well-deserved break from public performance. You can stream Sunday’s performance from Riverside Theatre in Milwaukee HERE.” Vernon has been touring in support of Bon Iver’s debut For Emma since 2007. He plans to spend the next few months focusing on Volcano Choir, his experimental post-rock group with Collection of Colonies of Bees, and his side-project with Megafaun, Gayngs. In addition, he will share a bill with Steve Kimock at the New York Guitar Festival on January 21. Vernon will perform alongside Collection of Colonies of Bees’ Chris Rosenau.
