Yonder Mountain String Band is in the midst of a tour in support of its latest studio recording, The Show. Danny Barnes has been tapped as the opener and on many of these evenings has sat in with the group. On Wednesday and Thursday, the tour traveled up to Burlington, for shows at Higher Ground. There Barnes was a steady presence with Yonder. On Wednesday, he joined the group during the second set for a run that included “Crow Black Chicken,” and a move from “Freeborn Man” into “Wheel Hoss” and back into “Freeborn Man.” On Thursday he emerged during set one for “Funtime” and “Crazy Train.” Tonight, Barnes and Yonder travel to Boston’s House of Blues.
