The National’s Bryce Dessner and Aaron Dessner will present a multi-media song cycle at Brooklyn, NY’s Brooknlyn Academy of Music this week. The Long Count pairs the twin brothers’ mix of electric and orchestral sounds with the work of visual art phenomenon Matthew Ritchie and a full 12-piece orchestra. According to Bryce Dessner, the story involves the beginning of the world, Mayan mythology, hell and the Cincinnati Reds. Guest vocalists Kim and Kelley Deal (The Breeders, The Pixies), Shara Worden (My Brightest Diamond), and Matt Berninger (The National) will help bring the story to life. The Long Count will run at the Brooklyn Academy of Music from Oct 28—31.
